Welcome and Bienvenue
I hope that this website is your next step to health, success and fun.
Registered Psychologist since 2001, I believe my gentle style and knowledge can assist you with your journey.
I have worked for or contracted with NSW Health, NSW Victims Services, UNSW, Tafe NSW, schools and charities. My private practice has been in operation since 2012.
I am comfortable and experienced working with children, teenagers and adults of all genders, sexualities and cultural backgrounds. I welcome you all.
I am fluent in English and French. Je parle francais couramment.
I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land and pay my respects to the Elders past, present and emerging.
Why see a Psychologist?
(because life's too short to work everything out yourself and you would definitely consult a dentist for a toothache or a plumber for a blocked pipe)
I am interested in helping my clients feel accepted, understood and empowered. I work with you as a person, not a checklist or illness. Quality caring and service is my focus for you.
*
I have a bagful of techniques and strategies, but my most powerful approaches are respect, kindness and humour.
*
(I also use approaches such as Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Brief, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Interpersonal Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisaiton and Reprocessing Therapy, Motivational Interviewing. But don't worry if that means nothing to you).
Life will always give us challenges.
My clients commonly consult me for: depression, anxiety and stress | assertiveness and anger management | sexuality and gender issues | pregnancy and parenting | relationship issues | substance issues | childhood issues | grief and loss | trauma | adjustment to a change in life | perfectionism, procrastination | work, study and school issues | IQ testing | work-life-health balance | body dissatisfaction issues including alopecia | managing time and money | and whatever comes up.Pregnancy, babies & toddlers
sloppy kisses, lost sleep, giggles, tears
I love supporting parents in all stages of the journey and in whatever way they need.
Pregnancy and labour are exhausting times filled with strong emotions (not all positive- but it's ok to talk about that).
And sometimes, unexpected things happen and it's really tough.
Everyone tries their best for their children, but they (thankfully) don't need you to be perfect.
I'm trained in 123-Magic, "Toddlers- Terrible or Terrific?" and Emotion Coaching.

Children
questions, songs and Where's Your Hat?
Like their parents, children have worries and struggles.
I worked as a Primary and High School Counsellor and understand that good mental health is important for everyone.I conduct a holistic assessment and then support the child and family by chatting, playing and working together.
I want kids and their families to have resilience and fun. (And it's great when the dishwasher gets emptied without whining).
I am also certified in running the Rhythm to Recovery (Drumming) program and Peaceful Kids (Mindfulness) program.
As required, I can do IQ and other testing in French and English.

Young people
Hey Camille, thanks for listening to me, but I fixed it myself
The journey to adulthood can be tricky. I have worked for over 20 years supporting young people aged 12-25 years in my roles in health services, drug and alcohol services, the Lycee Condorcet (French High School of Sydney), University and TAFE.
I love working with young people and am fluent in family and relationship dramas, study woes, procrastination, annoying jobs- and feeling crap, stressed, hungover, lonely, broke, bored. I work with young people of many cultural backgrounds, I'm queer and trans-friendly and I promise that in my room, you are the expert of your life. I don't lecture young people (and I definitely can't read your mind.)
I know that young people are full of wisdom- I help you make decisions, and then I step back and watch you take-off!

Alopecia Areata
yes, it's life changing
internationalinternationalI have lived with Alopecia Universalis since 2000. Life has continued, with its ups, downs, beanies and cheap wigs.
I have supported people and their families who are experiencing this emotional, confusing and exhausting journey.
I aim to help others with Alopecia to get past the grief and hurdles presented by this condition, get their confidence and jump back into life.
I have spoken at inteernsaiotna panels, forums and in the popular media about the unique challenges faced by people with this condition.
